So this weekend, I made a light box. It was relatively simple. I got some tissue paper, a cardboard box that I already had, and a sheet of poster board. I cut the box and taped on the tissue paper, and viola... much better pics. Go check some of them out in my shop and tell me what you think. they're the ones that are white and glowy!
I also finished my Christmas napkin rings and a new pair of earrings.
That's been the extent of my productivity for the week. Have an A&P test Thursday. Much studying needs to be done, so projects will have to wait for next week.
Halway to the weekend! Yay!

I just made a light box too - a few days ago. I am having one issue though - the pictures come out too warm - almost yellowish orange. It must be the bulbs I am using.
ReplyDeleteThey are super simple to make though.
Nice light box photos! You can really tell the difference! Your photos look great :0)
ReplyDeletenice one!
ReplyDeleteEvery time I photograph jewelry, I'm thinking about making a light box. I don't know why I haven't done it yet.
ReplyDeleteis it a lot of work?
P.s. cool earrings! :)
Great idea for a light box. I bought a tent which I love, but it looks like I could have saved some money making my own.
ReplyDeleteI made a similar lightbox and it came out great. Nice shop
ReplyDeleteLightboxes are wunnerful! If you're having problems with overtones, check your white light setting on your camera... and try to use those "daylight" bulbs for your lighting!
ReplyDeleteI also made a lightbox but always forget to use it. Your photos look great and I also like your earrings!!! Now off to find my lightbox!
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous. I've tried to make 2 or 3 light boxes and I can never produce nice pictures with them. Maybe someday I'll get the hang of it. For now I just shoot outside.
ReplyDeleteVery inventive! I really need to do this as well!
ReplyDeleteFound you on the Etsy forums... You're more clever than I for making your own lightbox. I purchased mine at http://www.ezcube.com/.
ReplyDeleteWorks great!
Love the light box! And good luck with your test!
ReplyDeleteYour pictures do look good. What kind of bulbs do you use and what kind of camera? I've tried a light box but never have decent results.
ReplyDeleteI found you on the Etsy forums, too:)
Good job! This makes me want to get motivated!
ReplyDeleteI made a light box awhile back as well. It was so much simpler to do than I had first thought it would be. Very inexpensive too!
ReplyDeletegood lighting definitely makes a gigantic difference!
ReplyDeleteawesome you've got it figured out! :)
I need to do this. I have had pretty good luck with using the natural light next to my window, but I still get hard shadows. Thanks for the post!
